Because of my years of academic training and clinical experience, I can consult on the simple to the most complex patients. I can see those who need to lose 20 pounds and want to prevent further weight gain and avoid chronic illnesses as well as patients who need to lose larger amounts of weight because of more complex medical problems such as hypertension, metabolic syndrome, prediabetes, diabetes, and insulin dependent diabetes. In many cases, with hard work, chronic illnesses can be prevented or the rate of progression can be slowed down, and sometimes reversed. It’s not just a matter of “willpower” and you may need medical help. I prescribe prescription medications for weight loss, when medically indicated. Whether you want to lose 20 pounds or 200 pounds, you can live a longer healthier life and improve your vitality and quality of life.
